The
Public Sector Enterprises (PSU) are run by the Government under the Department of Public Enterprises of Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises. The government grants the status of Navratna, Maniratna and Maharatna to Central Public Sector Enterprises. As of now,
there are 8
Maharatnas, 36 Mani Ratnas and 16 Navratnas in India.
